Mountains

I feel my warm breath dew around my cheeks,
I hear the sound of nothing, as if the trees have a secret to keep.

The crunch of snow under my feet is an abrupt reminder of my solitude,
As I look up, it appears night and day are in a combustive feud,
Exploding with crimson and gold,
Only mountains have this beauty they hold.

Only the mountains bring the deep breath that touches your bones,
Only the mountains provide such simple, extraordinary tones.

The crisp freedom of the mountains wraps you up tight,
It's a challenge to tear yourself away from all of it's might.

The mountains are where you can lose and find yourself,
The mountains are where lies soulful wealth.

The mountains,
Ever present, ever calm,
Ever bold, ever strong.
